The historic Plaza, Canyon Road’s art galleries, and the unique Museum of International Folk Art are must-visits. And, please, do yourself a favor and try some green chile stew while you’re here.
Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta
If your visit falls in early October, make sure to attend the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. It’s a sight to behold, with hundreds of colorful hot air balloons filling the sky at sunrise. This is a photographer’s paradise and a joy for the entire family.

Running between Santa Fe and Albuquerque, the Turquoise Trail is named for the rich turquoise deposits found in the area. Along the way, you can explore the old mining towns of Golden, Madrid, and Cerrillos.
